in short, the best “cure” is abstaining totally….but, while you are abstaining, you are going to go crazy obsessing about your “obsession”….try to focus your mind and time on something else.

i won’t get into the whole 12 step thing, as i don’t believe it would help quit WoW anyway…LOL. i’ve heard how addictive it is – my 23 y/o step-daughter plays is all day every day and has a 2 year old! LOL.

Weed. Lots and lots of weed, every day.

You must abstain from it as much as possible. Reward yourself in little ways for every day you manage not to play. Addiction usually exists because people are trying to hide from something within themselves that hurts them, and the diversion allows them to ignore facing up to it. What is it about yourself that you are scared to face or accept?

Finally, you need to find something that you truly believe means more to you and is more fulfilling than your addiction. Learn to play guitar or something more constructive?

Realize that you are in control. I don’t know about you, but feeling like something outside of my self has more control over me than I do really irks me as a human being. If you really dislike something enough to want to change, it certainly helps you not want to do it anymore.

Lastly, use your support network. We have friends and family for a reason, and if that’s not enough, there are medical professionals and counselors out there who do a wonderful job of empowering people to take control of there lives.

Pray to God. He is always there to help.

Pray, pray, pray and fast, and it will become easier.

Listen to the Eminem song “Not Afraid” for it is about Eminem conquering his addictions as well and rising above them.

    Hope that helps!

    God Bless!
